Yellow Iris Oil Painting

Yellow Iris Oil Painting, 20 by 20 inches Gallery Wrap

I finished the painting as realistic as I had time to allow and still have a few adjustments in color I will make to the greenery.  The edges are also painted and it comes ready to hang.

Irises have many folds and wrinkles and I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.  Thanks for visiting.

A Brilliant Rose, Original Oil Painting

I painted Brilliant Rose in a realistic portrait pose.  The oil painting is on a 16  by 20 inch gallery wrapped canvas.  The edges are staple free and painted so the painting can be hung without a frame.  I used a photo as a reference contributed to the wetcanvas.com reference library for artist member use.  Many Thanks to Skappy (WC user) for contributing the photo to the library.

I changed and added petals to make the rose a bit easier to layout and have a smoother composition.  The colors in this rose got my attention and I knew it would look great on a canvas.  Hope you like the painting.

Old Time Pump

Old Time Pump is an original oil painting on a 8 x 10 gallery wrapped canvas with edges painted and ready to hang on somebody's wall.  I used the old antique pump we have in our garden as the model and flowers we saw around a telephone pole at our last show.  Art is so much fun that inspirations can come from anywhere.

After finishing the pump this morning, I started on four new paintings this afternoon.  Hope you like the painting.

Yellow Rose, Original Painting

Yellow Rose is an oil painting on a 10 x 8 inch gallery wrapped canvas with edges painted.  The background is painted in acrylics with the floral in oils.   I like using mixed media. The acrylics are applied first and allowed to dry before painting over it with oils.  I hope you like the painting.  Should you want to purchase it or other paintings, please email me and I will check availability and send you an invoice.

Butterfly on Jasmine, Original Acrylic Painting

I finished Butterfly on Jasamine today.  The painting is painted in acrylics and is on a 20x20 gallery wrapped canvas with edges also painted.  Ready hang on your wall.

Springtime weather is coming to South Texas and along with it is increased wildlife activity.  Our jasmine is in full bloom and the bees and butterflies are all over it.  That is until you try to capture a picture of the little beauties.  I chased this colorful butterfly around for a long time (was a windy day) and was able to get several nice photos of it to paint from.  I liked this one and hope you enjoy it also.

Butterfly on Jasmine is for sale.  Email me if you wish to purchase.

Red Pot of Daisies Oil Painting

Red Pot of Daisies Oil Painting is on a 14x11 archieval canvas hardboard.  It is painted freestyle using wet on wet technique.  The brush strokes are visible on the flowers but smooth on the vase to create a contrast between the texture of the vase and flowers.  I like to do these as they are fairly fast and relaxing.  Hope you like it. Contact me if you wish to purchase it.
