Best Friends, A Man and His Dog

Art Prints

I painted this scene a few years ago of a rancher and his dog making the rounds checking on the property located in west Texas. The bluebonnets had just started blooming at the time. The lab has saved master from getting bitten by rattlesnake several times as they are numerous out there.  The original has sold, but prints are available for purchase on Fine Art America.

The Black Daschund

The Black Daschund is an orinal acrylic painting on a 10x8 inch stretched canvas.   The original is for a good friend of mine, but prints are available.  I have been using red backgrounds for my canine paintings to push the subject forward and be the royalty most of our pets become.  Hope you like the painting.
Let us pray before we paint,

The Painting of the Lab is Finished

The Hunter Lab, 8x8 Acrylic Painting

I finished the lab from the previous post.  He is a chocolate lab with a shiny coat.  I tried to capture the way his coat shined in the sunlight.  I hope you like the presentation.   I have another canine painting in progress which will be a Christmas present in memory of a little yorkie much missed by his owner.  I will post him when done.
Have a great weekend,
Jimmie

Finished "Little Pug" Painting

"Little Pug", 8x10 acrylic, Sold

Finished the "Little Pug" painting today.  The painting is in acrylics on a 8x10 canvas.  The background is the gesso'd canvas for a low intensity white which makes pug stand out very well against it.  I enjoyed painting the wrinkles and folds.  They made some interesting patterns on his face and in the body hair.  Pug is a friendly little dog that lives next door to us. I hope you like "Little Pug" as much as I did painting it.

Go Paint,
Jimmie Bartlett
