I painted Brilliant Rose in a realistic portrait pose. The oil painting is on a 16 by 20 inch gallery wrapped canvas. The edges are staple free and painted so the painting can be hung without a frame. I used a photo as a reference contributed to the
wetcanvas.com reference library for artist member use. Many Thanks to Skappy (WC user) for contributing the photo to the library.
I changed and added petals to make the rose a bit easier to layout and have a smoother composition. The colors in this rose got my attention and I knew it would look great on a canvas. Hope you like the painting.
